A reader sent me in this question last week, “If God loves us the way you say He does, then why does He allow terrible suffering and death?” This post is dedicated to answering as best I can. 

First of all, how striking is it that the greatest story of love comes AFTER the most awful, and terrifying story of betrayal, hurt, and death?

Let’s pause and pray.

“God, John ends his gospel, reminding us of how Jesus trampled over death by death. He wrote this down so that we might believe and be saved.  Only Jesus has power over death. Help us to trust. I pray that we might believe these things the way the crowds did with zeal and vigor and praise so that the glory of Jesus might be seen. I pray that you would use this blog and my words to express your love to this family…
