Coach fans rejoice! You now own your very own designer bag for less than $100. It’s red, it’s stunning, and it’s genuine leather. There’s just one catch: the Coach purse is only big enough for a doll.
For the first time in Barbie’s 54-year history, she will carry her own designer bag, courtesy of Coach. Known simply as the Coach Barbie doll, the brunette doll (surprising, we know!) totes a teeny signature red leather Classic Coach duffel created just for her by the Coach design house. The human-sized Coach Classic Leather Duffel retails for $398.
Barbie’s bag comes encased in its own miniature protective dust cover, just like the full sized version. And how adorable is the little tassel? To match Barbie’s chic purse, she wears a Tattersall trench over a striped sweater and a red ultra suede skirt. Much like the classic adult women’s versions, both the sweater and skirt even feature functioning Coach turn locks. Her red round-framed sunglasses and matching heels with little red tassels on them complete her Coach look.
Barbie and her mini Coach bag retail for $95 and is available for purchase at thebarbiecollection.com. If you’re a collector you may want to act quickly — Vogue UK reports that only 13,000 of the limited edition dolls have been created. This is Barbie’s first designer purse, but certainly not the first time she’s been dressed by high-end fashion designers. Calvin Klein, Oscar de la Renta, Christian Dior, Ralph Lauren, Versace, Cynthia Rowley, Donna Karan, Nicole Miller, Christian Louboutin, and Vera Wang are just some of the stylish names who have dressed the little plastic lady.
